We service hearing aids from all major manufacturers, whether you purchased them from us or another provider. Professional maintenance keeps your devices working properly and extends their lifespan. What might seem like a major problem is often a simple fix that can be resolved during a single appointment.

Why Hearing Aids Need Professional Maintenance

Modern hearing aids are sophisticated devices, but they face daily exposure to moisture, earwax, and environmental debris. Most hearing aid malfunctions actually stem from earwax buildup or moisture rather than device failure. This is good news because professional cleaning and inspection can resolve many common issues and prevent more costly repairs down the road.

Your hearing aids work constantly to amplify sound and keep you connected to the people around you. Daily cleaning at home helps, but there are maintenance needs that require professional attention. Think of it like your car - regular oil changes prevent bigger problems later on.

Common Issues We Fix

We see certain problems regularly in our clinic. Weak or distorted sound often indicates receiver problems or wax blockage blocking sound output. When sound cuts in and out intermittently, we usually find issues with battery contacts or moisture that's worked its way into internal components. Feedback or whistling typically results from poor fit or earwax buildup in the receiver rather than something wrong with the device itself.

Physical damage from drops or water exposure needs professional assessment to determine what can be salvaged. Some repairs we can complete in our office during your appointment, while more extensive damage may need to go back to the manufacturer. We'll evaluate your devices and give you honest recommendations about whether repair or replacement makes more financial sense.

We handle battery door issues, volume control problems, and connectivity failures regularly. Our experience across multiple hearing aid brands means we can troubleshoot manufacturer-specific quirks efficiently.

How to Schedule Service

Getting started is straightforward. You can give us a call, or simply contact us through our contact form with the issues you're experiencing, your hearing aid model name, and serial numbers. This helps us determine whether we have the right equipment and software to work with your particular brand and model before we schedule an appointment for you.

For hearing aids purchased elsewhere, we collect fees out of pocket and don't bill insurance for this work. We don't accept walk-ins because scheduling ensures we have adequate time blocked off and the right tools ready for your specific devices.

Our Philosophy on Hearing Aid Service

We work with hearing aids from all major manufacturers - Phonak, ReSound, Oticon, Signia, Widex, Starkey, Unitron, and Sonic Innovations. Our audiologists stay current with manufacturer training and software updates, which matters when you're troubleshooting complex issues.

Here's where we're different from many clinics. As a diagnostic clinic rather than a hearing aid store, our focus is on maximizing what you already own. We're among the few clinics that still offer support for discontinued hearing aids. Some clinics stop servicing devices after the warranty expires or immediately push upgrades to newer technology. We take a different approach.

Unless you specifically ask about newer technology, we work to keep your current devices functioning well. Our goal is helping people maintain their hearing health. If your hearing aids can be repaired or adjusted to meet your needs, that's what we'll do.

Beyond Basic Repairs

Professional maintenance can significantly extend how long your hearing aids last. Most devices function well for five to seven years with proper care, though we've helped some patients use theirs successfully for longer. Regular professional cleaning, timely repairs, and appropriate adjustments help you get the most value from your investment.

We provide comprehensive support beyond just fixing what's broken. This includes programming adjustments and custom ear mold replacements when needed. For patients whose hearing aids just aren't performing as expected, we offer Real Ear Measurement verification.

Real Ear Measurement uses a probe microphone to measure exactly how much sound your hearing aids deliver inside your ear canal. This matters because everyone's ear anatomy is slightly different, and manufacturer default settings don't account for these variations. Proper verification ensures your devices provide appropriate amplification for both your specific hearing loss and your unique ear shape.

We've seen many patients who struggled with hearing aids purchased elsewhere find much better success once their devices are properly verified with Real Ear Measurement.

When Replacement Makes More Sense

Sometimes repair honestly isn't the best option. When repair costs start approaching what you'd pay for replacement, when the technology no longer meets your current hearing needs, or when your hearing has changed significantly since your last fitting, we'll have a conversation about upgrades.

Technology in the hearing aid industry moves quickly. Newer devices offer genuinely improved sound processing, better connectivity with your phone and TV, and features that can significantly impact your daily life. If your current devices are several generations old, we'll explain what newer technology could offer so you can make an informed decision about whether upgrading makes sense for you.

Get Your Hearing Aids Working Again

Your hearing aids are what connect you to conversations with family, friends, and colleagues. When they're not working properly, you miss moments that matter. Regular professional maintenance keeps your devices functioning effectively and extends how long they'll last.
