Workers' compensation for hearing loss (L&I)
If your hearing is damaged due to on-the-job conditions or exposures, you may be entitled to workers' compensation. Because hearing loss can develop gradually, it can be difficult to know if you should file a claim. If you suspect you have job-related hearing loss, it’s best to act sooner rather than later. Follow these steps.
- Receive comprehensive diagnostic testing from us.
- See a state certified independent medical examiner we will refer you to. If your test results indicate noise-induced hearing loss and you have a job history associated with noisy environments, the examiner may help you submit a claim.
- Get hearing aids to improve your hearing ability and quality of life from our audiologist once your claim is approved. You will be entitled to receive a new pair of hearing aids every 5 years at no charge.
